Community Development Program (CDP)

The Volta River Authority (VRA) is committed to the sustainable development of its impacted communities by nurturing the potential of talented individuals through its Community Development Program (CDP). As part of this initiative, the Educational Scheme under the CDP is dedicated to providing equal opportunities to brilliant but needy students.

We believe that investing in education is key to unlocking the potential of young people to contribute meaningfully to their communities and society at large. Through this scholarship program, the VRA offers financial assistance to students pursuing tertiary education who are native and resident in the impacted communities of the VRA's operations.

Scholarship Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must:
  • Be a native of the following impacted communities:
    Aboadze, Abuesi, Ada, Agave, Akwamu, Anlo, Anum, Anwomaso, Bakpa, Battor, Boso-Gua, Dorfor, Dwomo, Fievie, Fodzoku, Kpone, Mafi, Manya Krobo, Mepe, Osudoku, Shama, Tefle, Tema, Torgorme, Vakpo, Volo, VRA Resettlement, Vume, Yilo Krobo
  • Have attended a Public Basic School in the impacted community.
  • Aggregates in BECE and WASSCE must not exceed 24.
  • Gain admission into a Public Tertiary Institution in the country as a Level 100 Regular Student and NOT as a Fee-paying student (1st Degree).
  • Attach copies of Admission letter, Basic Education and Senior High School results slips.

Eligible students are invited to complete the online Scholarship Application Form by providing the required details and submitting all relevant documentations.
